NEW DIRECTIONS FOR VETERANS HIRES NEW CHIEF PROGRAM OFFICER
LOS ANGELES, December 5, 2016– New Directions for Veterans welcomes Dr. Susan Michael as its new Chief Program Officer. Dr. Michael joins the agency with an extensive background in veteran issues as she was the Clinical Director at U.S Veteran’s Initiative Long Beach for the last three years. Prior to that, Dr. Michael was the Clinical Supervisor at St. Francis Medical Center. Dr. Michael obtained her Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree from Mount St. Mary’s University as well as her Psy.D from the California School of Professional Psychology.
New Directions for Veterans President and CEO, Yvette J. Kelley said the agency is “thrilled to have the expertise and experience of Dr. Michael. Her background in clinical psychology especially working with the veteran population is exactly what we were looking for.”
Today, NDVets serves over 1,200 veterans annually to provide housing assistance, case management, job support and many more supportive services.
